Alejandrina's story

Alejandrina, age 48, is a kind, supportive, enterprising, and very hard-working woman. She has lived with Máximo, a farmer, for many years. They have a 12 year old son. They live in a house that they were able to build as the result of a lot of effort and continual work.

Her business activity is selling basic needs groceries. She has a grocery store set up in her house. She established the store as the answer to the financial needs that the family frequently faced. She did this because her life partner’s income was not enough. She now has an additional income that generates financial relief.

She has had the business for just one year. She has seen it grow slowly as the days pass. Sometimes Máximo helps when he has time and is not working in the fields. She likes her business as it allows her to have an additional income to help her life partner with the household expenses. Also, she can always be at home and take care of her son. He is school age, and she loves him very much.

This is her third loan with MFP. She is grateful for the support given so that she is able to realize her plans. She is comfortable in her communal bank as she feels that the members of the group are responsible and supportive.

She will use the requested 1,200 soles to buy general groceries like rice, sugar, eggs, cooking oil, cookies, milk, packaged products, and others. She will buy wholesale as she is looking to get greater income and to stock her grocery store.
