Francis's story

Francis is 45 years old is married with six children, four of whom are currently in school. He lives in the town of Mbarara in the Mbarara region of Uganda. For the past 12 years, Francis has been working hard to manage his farm and garden shop where he sells seedlings.

Francis is requesting a 2,000,000 UGX loan from BRAC Uganda to help expand his business and buy more flowers, seedlings, trees, and fruit plants. His loan will help him to generate greater profits and boost his business by allowing him to sell more. Francis hopes that in the future, he will be able to have a larger farm and improve his standard of living.

Francis is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Francis who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
