A loan of $2,250 helped a member to buy 8 pagnes.

Joyeuse Mpya Group's story

An ambitious and experienced entrepreneur, the client, Luanda, is an advisor in the Joyeuse Mpya loan group. She is 45 years old and lives alone (without a spouse). She is the mother of 3 children. The client has been selling pagnes (traditional wrap arounds) for about 10 years. She sells her goods at the central market of Virunga. She started her business with money from her older brother. Later on, she asked for a loan from IMF Hekima. She just completed 8 loan cycles in their microfinance program. This new loan will help her buy 8 pagnes. The client is comfortable with her business. In the future, she would like to buy a piece of land where she can build a house. She would like to thank Hekima for their support and for the empowerment of female small business owners.
