A loan of $2,300 helped a member to purchase an industrial bread oven.

Sueño Del Futuro Group's story

The communal bank SUEÑO DEL FUTURO is made up of eight members – six women and two men. The bank is coordinated by Martha, a 56-year-old woman with three children aged 13, 16 and 18. Martha bakes and sells bread for a living. She has her own bakery, which is situated in the town of Nueva Esperanza. This will be the first loan cycle she has taken part in with the group. Martha plans to use this loan to purchase an industrial bread oven, which will allow her to provide a better service to her customers and increase her profits. She decided to apply for the loan because she wants to keep improving her business. She plans to use her profits to keep buying bread-making utensils and ingredients. Martha is very hard-working and is grateful for the opportunity that she and her fellow group members have been given, since some of them are single parents.
