A loan of $500 helped to purchase compost, fertilizers and to pay laborers.

Rodrigo Salomon's story

Rodrigo lives with his wife who is a nurse and they have one son who depends on them financially. He works cultivating plantains and is also employed as a physical education teacher. In his home, he learned how to cultivate plantains, and a year ago, he began to pursue this to sustain his family. He has worked for 26 years as a teacher.

Currently, he is requesting a loan to purchase compost, fertilizers, and to pay laborers to be able to initiate the application (of fertilizer) to the plantain crop, helping him protect it and giving it strength to improve the production. He hopes to generate a more abundant plantain harvest this way. Due to the lack of rain recently, he has had to water his plants. His goal is to obtain a greater production of plantains, corn, and squash on his fields, since this will allow him to have a greater income for his family.
