A loan of $1,000 helped to buy flour, oil, soap, and fish.

Olandina's story

Olandina is a 48-year-old married woman with nine children; five of them are in school and her husband is a fisherman. She has a kiosk in front of her home to supply people in her village with basic goods. She will purchase additional supplies for her store with the loan, including flour, oil, soap, and fish. She lives with her family in a house made of bricks with zinc for the roof. She would like to build a stronger house for her family and hopes to earn enough in her business to support her children to go for higher education.
