Benter's story

Benter is a 40-year-old woman from Kisumu, married to Kephas, who is a farmer. They have four children, ages 15, 11, 10 and 8 years old. Benter sells fruits – a business she has done for the last 15 years. She makes a monthly income of 10,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) and is taking out her second loan from KADET Ltd for 50,000 KES. She intends to add more stock with sacks of oranges, mangoes, grapes and apples. She will use her profits to expand the business and pay off her loan well. Her dream is to own a very big stall in town.
