A loan of $425 helped to purchase fabric.

Erenia Patricia's story

Erenia, 58 years old and married, is a seamstress. She has worked for 45 years in the sewing and dressmaking business. She began as an apprentice in a small sewing workshop when she was 13 years old. It served as a school that taught her how to make a living. Little by little she began improving and with her sewing jobs she began saving until she was able to open her own mini sewing workshop.

Erenia makes dresses for all kinds of events such as weddings, “quince años” [a teen-age girl’s coming out ceremony], baptisms, business uniforms. She also sells clothing in communities on the outskirts of León, where she is a native. She needs the loan to purchase fabrics wholesale and so that she can fulfill the orders she has. With the loan she will be able to acqure more raw material for her work and deliver her orders on time.

One of her greatest dreams is to be able to expand her workshop and buy new sewing machines and offer work to women like herself who are looking for ways to succeed every day.
