Martha Cecilia's story

Martha, age 42, can be described as a cheerful, hard-working, and very positive person who has her goals set. Martha lives with her husband and their four children in Urcuquí, which is 20 minutes from Ibarra. Martha works with an employee selling fast food like French fries and hamburgers. The business allows her to cover the household expenses like food, clothes, and her children’s education. Martha has been working with Fodemi for five consecutive years. The loan she is now requesting is to improve her business by adding tables, chairs, and a new industrial stove. She will do this because she is continuously getting more customers. She will also buy “quintales” [1 quintal = 100 kg] of potatoes, soft drinks, and sausages. This investment will help her business to be more presentable, will make her customers loyal to her, and she will get more income. Martha dreams of her business becoming a good restaurant that at functions at 100%. This way she will be able to get together income, and she will be able to build her own house.
