A loan of $1,200 helped to buy a motorcycle to use for taxi service.

Raul's story

Raúl, age 21, was born in Ivirgarzama – Cochabamba. He is a young person who lives alone and does not have children. His parents’ scarce financial resources only allowed him to go to school up to the fourth grade.

His neighbors and family members point out that Raúl is well-known in the area for being a hard-working and responsible person. He has a great desire to improve himself in order to continue his educatin.

One year ago he started providing “mototaxi” [three wheeled motorized vehicle] service in the city of Ivirgarzama. He belongs to the Carrasco Tropical drivers’ union. All of the members are given stops so that the customers are able to use their services. The income he generates from this business activity supports his parents.

Currently his work tool has some mechanical failures. That is the reason he is requesting a loan to buy a new motorcycle. This will help him to continue getting income in order to be able to pay for the family expenses.
