John's story

John lives in Nanyuki area of Central province, Kenya. He is married and has three children. He owns a tea tree farm. He extracts oil from the tea leaves and sells it. Besides this, John also plants maize, beans, carrots, and potatoes on a small scale and raises cattle. He started the business through his own savings.

John learned about Milango through an employee who invited him to the group. He joined with an aim of accessing credit to improve his business operations. The main challenges he faces are price fluctuations, inflation, and seasonal weather.
