A loan of $1,350 helped to buy two new machines for her sewing business and also sewing materials.

Lina's story

Lina is 54 years old and an enthusiastic and hard-working woman, who also is happy and extroverted. She is married to Landes, who is in transportation, and he is that father of her three children. She lives with her son Ivan, who is 30 years old in the house they built on a parcel of land that her partner inherited.

She is involved in the sewing and creation of clothing and lingerie for women and men. This is a job which she learned by studying in an occupational education center. She began to work independently 19 years ago with a sewing machine that she bought with her own money, installing it in her own home, and now she has two machines that she uses for different finishes. She thinks her business is very useful for the good income that it gives her, and she also likes it because it is a distraction and makes her feel like a productive person.

This is her 8th loan with MFP, so she promises she will be punctual with her payments, just as she has been in the past. In addition to feeling happy about the other members of the community bank, she thinks they are responsible and sympathetic.

With the money she asks for, 3,500 Soles, she will buy two refurbished machines valued at 200 and 350 Soles each. Also, she will buy sewing materials (fabrics, threads, elastic, and others), looking for lower prices and buying in bulk.
