PUCALLPA, Peru / Food Stall

A loan of $575 helped to buy the ingredients necessary for the preparation of his food, and also to buy utensils for the kitchen (plates, cups, etc.).

Alessandro's story

Alessandro is 28 years old and is a very hardworking and dedicated person with a lot of motivation to succeed. He is single and has no children. He loves together with his parents and three siblings in the home of his parents.

His business is in the sales of traditional foods of his region, like "juanes" (rice wrapped in a leaf), fried chicken, mixed rice, and others. For this purpose, every night he places himself in the front part of the house, where he has placed some small tables and chairs to wait upon his customers (his neighbors and others). He has been working at this business for the past 4 years, succeeding in making himself known and requested because of his great seasonings. He waits on customers with the help of his mother and one assistant, occasionally. In addition, he has a part-time job in the mornings, in a polling office, and this helps him to make some money.

This is his third loan from MFP and he really likes his community bank, since he considers it to be a very united and responsible group about thier payments.

With the money he asks for, 1,500 Soles, he will invest in buying ingredients for the preparation of his foods (rice, sugar, oils, etc.) as well as utensils like plates, cups, and the rest for his business.
