The committee “29 de Septiembre" is currently in their third loan cycle, with 15 members. They are glad to be working with the committee and feel thankful for the opportunity they are being given.

Mirna is the president of the group and says that she is involved in the growth and sales of animals. She says that it's very hard work and she does it full time, since she has to be waiting on her animals 24 hours a day. Her goal is to have a big farm where she would be able to keep a greater variety of animals.

She is asking for a loan to buy balanced feed, with which she will be able to continue feeding her animal and to avoid running out of such an important product for her business.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
