A loan of $775 helped to buy food for her sheep and fertilizer to grow limes.

Luciana Prudencia's story

Lucila is 42 years old, married, and has two children. She is a very happy and hardworking person. She lives in the rural district of Tambogrande in the north of Peru. She works raising sheep and in other agricultural activities. Currently, she has 25 sheep in addition to 100 lime trees on the land that she inherited from her father, and her husband supports her in the work that she does. She enjoys life in the countryside, despite having to work very hard. Nevertheless, she and her family members support each other in order to make their humble conditions more acceptable and to live happily.

In order to maintain her way of life, she is asking for a loan of 2,000 soles (Peruvian currency) from Edpyme Alternativa with the support of Kiva. She will use this loan to buy food for her sheep, as well as to buy fertilizer for her lime trees, which will permit her to continue growing her business and improving her quality of life.
