Patricia Veronica's story

Patricia is 40 years old. She is a single mother with a 21 year old daughter. She is know in the area because of her work selling groceries, candies, and yonque [a traditional drink]. She has always sought to giver her daughter the best so that she can get ahead. That is what gave her the idea to open a store to sell basic food products and candies to supply the community. This business has proven to be profitable and it has helped her and her daughter have a dignified life. She and her daughter also live with her mother, whom they help and who collaborates by working at the store. In order to meet an unfilled demand, she is seeking a loan of 2500 soles with EDPYME Alternative and Kiva. With the loan, she will buy more merchandise (snacks, sodas, beer, bottles of Yonque, etc.) to stock her business and to sell. They live in the Lambayque area in northern Peru.
