A loan of $1,025 helped to refurbish her house.

Wendy Rosa's story

Sra. Wendy is a single mother with two children in her care. She works as a part-time teacher at the Colegio Fe y Alegría in the town of Colcapirhua, generating a salary of 550 Bs. She owns a radio taxi that she was able to acquire through the fruit of her labor. It is in good condition because she has periodic maintenance done on it. She receives an income of 90 Bs. daily from this taxi, which her brother operates as taxi-driver. Wendy needs a small loan to refurbish her humble abode which is located in an area peripheral to the city of Cochabamba. She has come to our institution for the loan and we facilitated a KIVA loan for her and she is very grateful, especially to KIVA for channeling micro loans to people with economic needs who can use them to help improve their economic situation and gain access to a better quality of life.
