A loan of $725 helped to buy organic fertilizer (chicken manure).

Silbano's story

Silbano is 30 years old and single with a primary school education, and lives with his parents, but has been economically independent for the past eight years in the community of Segunda Candelaria a nieghborhood of Piyurata in the northern part of Colomi. Silbano is a young, responsible, and hardworking person who receives an annual income from his agricultural crops and the sales of his potatoes, lima beans, and the traditional tubers called papaliza, which he plants in a rotation on his 1.5 hectares of land that he inherited from his parents.

Young Silbano needs agricultural inputs like organic fertilizer (chicken manure) and other agricultural chemicals, since he has found it hard to ask for resources from many other institutions. Finally, he feels very happy to have had this opportunity, since he has a dream of planting more lands in order to buy a home of his own in which to live more comfortably.
