A loan of $200 helped to buy a spare part to repair her vehicle, since it's the one she uses to transport her merchandise, take her produce to sell, and the repair a part of the wall of her house where the plaster has fallen off.

Nora Elizabeth's story

Nora is 46 years old and single. She works with her brother growing produce like cucumbers, tomatoes, and green peppers. She has been involved in this business for the past three years, before which she worked doing the housework for her home.

All of the inputs that she uses are bought in a city in the east of the country. Her brother has a vehicle and they go together to make their purchases.

The loan she is asking for is to buy a part to repair that vehicle, because it is their means of transporting their merchandise, and for taking their produce to sell, and for repairs to a part of the wall of her house where the plaster has fallen off. This will make them more secure and comfortable without putting her family at risk of having to stop selling their harvested good because of the poor condition of their vehicle. Her hope is to change to a new vehicle, hopefully in the next year, though it will depend on how quickly their business grows and what other necessities present themselves in the meantime.
