Franklin Rolando's story

At his age of 21, Franklin has already had a business for 7 years. He now lives in the city of Latacunga. Latacungs is the capital of the province of Cotopaxi, which is in the Central Sierra of Ecuador. Latacunga has a mild climate and an average temperature of 12°C (39°F). Latacunga is located on the skirts of the highest active volcano in the world, Cotopaxi, and has been destroyed to its foundations three times by its eruptions. Latacunga is known for its colonial architecture and its beautiful scenery of the cordillera of the Andes.

Franklin is a young entrepreneur who sells paintings and is also a painter. At this time, he is single and has no children, and so he puts much of his energy into his business. Franklin works 8 hours a day. He is applying to Kiva through Fundación Alternativa for a loan to improve his workshop and buy more paint in order to offer better service to his customers and have a greater variety of products. Thus he will be able to have a better quality of life, help his family, and perhaps begin his own (family) in the future.
