Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $200 helped to buy groundnut paste and dried fish for resale.

Al Diouma's story

Al Diouma lives in one of Senegal's towns. She has been a trader, notably selling groundnut paste and dried fish, for more than three years, and thus has three years' experience in this field. She is married and mother to two children, aged ten and 25 years old respectively. She is a member of one of the U-IMCEC branches and is requesting a loan of 100,000 francs, with which she plans to buy groundnut paste and dried fish for resale. This loan will enable her to increase her working capital and improve her earnings.
