A loan helped to buy more bales of used children's clothing.

Juliet's story

Juliet is married and has two children, one of whom attends school. For the past 8 years, she has operated a business selling used children's clothing. Juliet generates additional income by selling charcoal. She sells to all categories of people at the retail level, working seven days a week from her home.

Juliet has applied for a loan of 900,000 UGX (Uganda shillings) from MCDT-SACCO to buy more bales of used children's clothing. Her major business challenge is transportation of the clothing from the market to her stall at home. Juliet hopes to see her business grow big so that she becomes a wholesaler and to get enough profits to build her own house. She resides in a rented house and the family has no access to electricity and piped water. Juliet's monthly expenses include rent and school fees.
