A loan of $925 helped to purchase food for the cattle.

George's story

George is 22 years old. He is married and lives in a small village of Telavi District with his wife, Nino. They run an agricultural business. They have a plot of land, where cucumber, tomatoes and potatoes are grown. They sell harvested products on the local open market. They also have calves. George and Nino work hard but their income is hardly enough for food for two members of the family. The total average monthly income of the family is 200 Lari.

George requested a loan to purchase feed for the cattle. He will purchase hay, which will be used for feeding the calves during the fall and winter seasons. Hay is cheap now and the price increases by 30-40% in the fall months. George will save significantly on the cost of feeding the calves. The grown calves will be sold for a good price. Thus, he will be able to earn additional income. He will reinvest the additional earnings to expand his agricultural enterprise to make it more profitable, thereby improving the living conditions of the family.
