A loan of $775 helped to buy seed and fertilizer.

Reyna's story

Reyna is 42 years old, and she and her husband have two children. She lives in the village of Huaylahuichán in Tarma.
Every day, after taking care of her children and husband, she heads out to her fields, which she's been working for 22 years. Her main crops are corn and peas, and she worked hard to be able to buy her land. But during some planting seasons she needs more land, so she also rents, especially from September to November. "I get good sales those months," she says, "because buyers come from all over the country." Her husband helps her with this exhausting work, but she also hires helpers because the two of them can't always take care of everything between them.

This is her third loan with MFP, and she likes working with the Nueva Esperanza – Huaylahuichán village bank because she is able to save money.
Reyna will use 1500 soles of this loan to buy corn and pea seeds; she will use the rest to buy fertilizer.
