A loan of $1,500 helped to buy livestock.

Miriam Catalina's story

Miriam is a member of the communal bank Damas Responsables. She lives in the city of Cuenca, which has a cold climate. There are many places to enjoy the countryside and nature. Since 1999 it has been a World Heritage Site. The people are friendly and gentle, and they still maintain the traditions of their villages.

Miriam is 35 years old, is married, and has a 12-year-old son who is studying at a school in the city. Her husband is privately employed, and they own the house that they live in. She spends most of her time at home caring for her family. In order to help with the family expenses, she sells natural products from Omnilife. She has been doing this for three years, and also raises pigs and guinea pigs.

She has been a member of the communal bank for seven years, and she use the funds from this new loan to purchase livestock so she can get started in this business. Her goal is to grow this livestock business and also continue to grow her sales of natural products.
