A loan of $6,050 helped a member to buy fertilizer and animal feed.

Mujeres De Chilcatotoras (Cuenca) Group's story

The Mujeres de Chilcatotoras communal bank is comprised of 15 hard-working and enterprising women. They live in Tarqui Parish in Cuenca, which experiences cold weather. Its large plains provide beautiful landscapes and allow everyone to enjoy the peace and nature. The parish center is a mixture of colonial and modern architecture. The people are kind, pleasant, and have warm hearts. They make a living in agriculture, livestock breeding, and many people work daily in the city. However, they maintain the culture and traditions of their towns.

One of the members of this group is Susana. She is 28 years old, married, and has two children who are 7 and 5 years old. Her husband works as a builder. The house they live in is on their own property.

Susana spends most of her time taking care of her children who are still young. When needed, she works as a domestic employee and also raises chickens, guinea pigs, and livestock at home. She sells them when she has a financial need.

This is the third loan that she is receiving from the communal bank. She will invest it in buying fertilizer for the pastures and animal feed.

Her goal is to finish some needed projects in her home.
