A loan of $900 helped to purchase a milk cow from a good breed.

Marrash's story

Marrash is in her mid-sixties and married. Her children are grownups and none of them are attending school at the moment. They all live in northwest Albania, where the extreme cold weather can be hard on animals, just like it can be hard on people. Yet, Marrash has found her ways of taking care of her animals.

Marrash has been selling milk and animals to the local market for the past twenty years and has built a steady clientele that she is happy with. Her husband, in the photo, has been helping her out as well. Profit hasn’t been bad either, yet at the moment the cow they have is growing older and doesn’t produce as much milk as before. Marrash is now planning to replace it with another cow for milk.

This is her fourth time requesting a loan, with the previous ones being fully paid off. She is aware that she is applying to KIVA for this loan through VisionFund Albania and cannot hide her appreciation for all potential lenders.
