Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $950 helped to buy pagnes and maize.

Ahlimba's story

Mrs. Ahlimba is 44 years old. Her husband works for a local company, and they have two children aged 7 and 19 who both go to school.

She has been a reseller since 1991. Her income-generating activity is the sale of pagnes (colorful West African cloth) and “kom”, a maize-based dish served with fish and fresh tomatoes that is well liked by the people of Togo. She works door-to-door and from her home, with the help of her children.

This is her second loan cycle with WAGES, and she will use this credit to stock up on pagnes and maize.

She wants to strengthen her activity and ensure her family’s well-being.
