A loan of $2,100 helped to buy a vehicle to transport his products.

Kenner's story

Kenner is only 21 years old and he lives with his family in Santa Teresita, a community located in the Turrialba canton of the Cartago province. The city of Cartago has been the capital of Costa Rica until 1823, and it is characterized by a mountainous terrain that has been formed by two ranges: Central and Talamanca. Given its proximity to two volcanoes, Irazú and Turrialba, weather is cold for most part of the year.
Kenner prepares dairy products such as cream, cheese and butter, and he then distributes them both in his community and in those nearby. As he does not have a vehicle of his own to do his job he is requesting a loan of one million and thirty five thousand Colones (¢1.035.000) to buy a vehicle, in order to speed up his job and to increase the number of his customers.
Kenner is a member of the Communal Bank “El Sauce de Santa Teresita Turrialba” (The Willow of Santa Teresita Turrialba), one of EDESA’s 150 social organizations in Costa Rica. This will be is first loan and he hopes that thanks to this he will keep on growing as a micro entrepreneur and that he will make his activity grow. He also points out that thanks to this type of organizations and means of facilitating credit he can get a better profit from his productive activities.
