A loan of $575 helped to buy accessories and spare parts to repair his motorcycle and to buy more soda crates to sell.

Jhonatan's story

Jhonatan is 23 years old, and he is a hardworking and persevering young man with a great desire to progress in life. He is single and he lives in his parents’ house with them and his five brothers whom he loves very much, and he works very hard to be the pride of his family.

He offers public transportation services, driving his motorcycle every day along the streets of his town, looking for customers. He has been engaged in this activity for 4 years and things are going very well. Thanks to his job he has succeeded in saving enough money to start another activity about one year ago: he sells sodas at wholesale prices and by the unit. He has a freezer in the house of his parents where he freezes the sodas he then sells to the liking of his customers. He needs his vehicle to carry out this activity as well, in order to transport soda crates up to his customers’’ houses; as a consequence, some parts of his vehicle are not in optimal conditions and needs to be substituted. His earnings allow him to help his parents paying for their household expenses, on top of granting him financial freedom. He wants to become a successful entrepreneur, but considering the good results he is obtaining as a moto-taxi driver he now plants on owing a fleet of motorcycle taxis.

This is the third loan he is requesting to MFP and he feels deeply grateful for the economic support he is receiving as this will help him progress with his activity. He also says he likes his Communal Bank because he thinks its members are kind and caring people.

A portion of the 1500 PEN he has requested will be invested in the purchase of accessories and spare parts he needs to repair his motorcycle. He will use another portion of the loan to buy more soda crates.
