A loan of $700 helped to prepare for his next fruit and vegetable crop season.

Celso's story

Celso, 41, is a hard worker and very determined to be successful. He is single and independent, and lives in a rented house with four friends who all share the expenses.

He is a farmer, in association with his father who has a fruit and vegetable cropland. He has been in this business for nearly seven years and enjoys it, since he shares in his father's family business. This way he feels he supports the family and also generates his own income. He says what he dislikes is when crops suffer from disease, as this can generate losses and decrease production. But he combats it in time, even though it is expensive. He plans to open a restaurant in the city, since cooking is one of his main passions. But for now he will continue saving toward that goal.

This is his third loan through MFP and he is happy and grateful for the final support he is receiving to continue. He also likes his loan counselor and the members of his communal bank, most of whom are neighbors he knows and considers to be responsible.

He will use the 1,800 PEN to invest in the business he has jointly with his father, since the time is drawing near to begin planting for the new production season.
