A loan of $2,100 helped to buy a soldering machine and other construction tools.

Jafet's story

Jafet is 27 years old, and he lives with his wife and son. They live in a community called Osa in Caña Blanca, which is in the Puntarenas province. This community is known for being a rural area, which receives a lot of visitors because of its beautiful beaches, the diversity of its wildlife, and other natural attractions. The main business activities in this area are tourism and agriculture.

Jafet works in his own construction business. He needs tools in order to give his customers better service and to get more income. His is the only income for his household. He has financial needs that only work is able to satisfy.

Jafet has support and help from his wife so that he can carry out his work. He says that there is a great demand for this service, but he needs the appropriate tools in order to do the work.

He is requesting a microloan for one million forty thousand colones (¢1,040,000) in order to buy a soldering machine and other tools that are indispensable for doing this work.

Jafet is a member of the Caña Blancal community loan company, one of 110 organizations associated with EDESA in Costa Rica. He hopes to use this loan to grow further on both a personal and financial level. He also points out that, thanks to this type of organization that provides loans, he will be able to improve his quality of life.
