A loan of $3,500 helped a member to buy tires.

Las Inolvidables De San Felipe Group's story

The community association "Los Inolvidables de San Felipe" (The Unforgettables of San Felipe) will begin their second loan cycle with Pro Mujer as a part of the regional office of Cascada. They are a group of eight individuals, and they are guided by a board on which Eleuteria is the president. The businesses of the community association's members are varied and include among them: sewing petticoats, the sales of alpaca and vicuna wool, a local corner store, weaving of sweaters, weaving of ponchos and macramé work, jelly sales, and sewing of skirts.

The loan she will receive goes to benefit the small businesses of the group Eleuteria belongs to, and she says that it has been six months since she became a member of Pro Mujer, joining by the invitation of a friend who is also a member of the institution. She currently has a small business in tire sales; she tell us that it's been about five years since she learned to run this business together with her spouse as a family business.

The loan she will receive will improve her business through buying a tires, which she will buy from a distribution center and then sell at her own sales points in her stores. This line of work generates income to support her family as much as possible, as she is married and has four children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she replies that she likes the health center.
