A loan of $1,025 helped to purchase spare parts for his vehicle.

Nelson's story

Nelson is a 37-year-old young man who lives with his family in a community called Osa, located in Caña Blancal, which is in the province of Puntarenas. This community is known for being a highly visited rural area, because of its beautiful beaches, its wildlife diversity, and other natural attractions. Its main economic activities are tourism and agriculture.

Nelson works offering public transportation services with his vehicle inside and out of his community. He needs to buy some spare parts in order to improve his vehicle's condition, give his customers a better service, and of course obtain higher income, since he is the only source of income in his household and he has several financial needs which he cannot cover through his work alone.

Nelson has the support of his neighbors, since they use his services often. He is requesting a 500,000 colones microloan in order to purchase spare parts, repair his vehicle, and pay for labor.

Nelson belongs to the communal bank Caña Blancal, one of EDESA's 110 partner organizations in Costa Rica. He hopes this loan will allow him to grow on a personal and financial level. Thanks to this kind of organizations and lending resources he can improve his quality of life.
