A loan of $1,025 helped to produce clothing.

Gabriela's story

Gabriela is a young woman, 22 years old, who lives with her grandmother and small child, aged 2, in the community of San Rafael in the district of Florencia, in the canton of San Carlos in Alajuela Province. This rural community shows great potential for development through its farming activities. The area has a warm climate which encourages the production of certain fruits that are better adapted to this type of weather, such as mangoes, melons and others that are native to the area. Other activities, such as stock breeding also stand out.

The Florencia area is known for its national parks and its extensive variety of flora and fauna.

Gabriela works from her home because she has to take care of her grandmother as well as her child. She has a sewing workshop but only has one sewing machine and is requesting a loan of 500,000 colones to expand her equipment. She needs another overlock machine, fabric, thread and accessories, among other items.

She is a member of the Empresa de Credito Communal Bank of SCSAR S.A. This will be her first loan and she is very grateful for the opportunity to access the loan that is being offered to her and for being able to bring her project to fruition.
