Mwanalima is from Likoni, Mombasa. She is married and has eight children; six attend school while two are adults and work independently. Mwanalima's business is buying and selling vegetables. She makes her sales to a neighboring community and in Likoni town market. She tells us that she has an established customer base which helps her to make a very good income and thereby help her family.
Mwanalima is requesting a loan to buy vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, onions, etc. She tells us that this will enable her to stock up and have a larger variety of products to offer her customers.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
