A loan of $375 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Narun's Group's story

Narun, 27 years old, is a married mother of two children living in a rural village of the Kror Kor district of Pursat province, Cambodia. Rice farming is the main source of the family’s income and her husband supplements the income by making palm juice. She has been in this business for several years and is challenged with drought.

Narun’s group consists of three members who are all female living in the same village. She is in the fourth cycle of loans with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, and she completely repaid the past loans. This has enabled her to better support her family and have some money. Now leading her group of three to apply for a loan of 500,000KHR, Narun, who is the leader, will use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland. With this loan, she hopes to grow her rice healthfully and sell it for a good price to improve her standard of living.
