A loan of $5,650 helped a member to restock items in her hardware shop.


Utamaduni Group's story

Happy is in her early 30s. She is single, with three children who go to school. She has been selling hardware for two years now. She works from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit.

This will be Happy's second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to increase the stock in her hardware shop. She also paid school fees and household expenses. She has repaid her loan successfully. She wants a new loan to restock items in the hardware shop.

Her dream is one day to be able to build her own house.

Happy will share this loan with her loan group, "Utamaduni." It has 16 members who hold one another accountable for paying back their loans.
