A loan of $950 helped to buy groceries (rice, sugar, oil, etc) for her grocery store.

Maura's story

Maura is 50 years old and is a very hard working and earnest woman; She is jovial and sociable. She is separated from her three children's father. She now lives with her children and daughter in law.

Her business is in the sale of basic groceries like rice, sugar, noodles, oils and other foods. She has a store in her house for this work. She began more than 10 years ago with her own capital, seeing the necessity of having an additional income and she works it by herself. She likes it because it allows her to be in the comfort of her house, care for her children and in her free time, do other work. On the other hand she does not like it when her customers request to pay on credit because she has had bad experiences with this type of sale. Because of this, all her sales are made on the spot so she can quickly see her earnings. She has plans to expand her business and continue growing.

This is her fifth loan with the MFP institution, with which she hopes to solidify her plans. She is therefore committed to fulfilling her payments. With the amount requested of 2500 nuevos soles, she will invest in the purchase of more groceries (rice, oils, sugar and others) at wholesale and in large quantities.
