A loan of $275 helped to buy fertilizer for her coffee and banana farm.

Maira Suyapa's story

Maira, age 35, is in a common-law marriage and has two children. They live in a nearby village in the Santa Cruz de Yojoa municipality.

Maira is a very hard-worker. She has been devoting herself to commerce and agriculture for ten years. She produces and sells coffee and bananas. She also sells food at the school that is close to her house.

Maira is requesting a loan for 5,000 lempiras to buy fertilizer for her coffee and banana farm. She hopes that this investment will help her to increase production. Her dream is to work a lot on her farm, give it adequate maintenance in order to have a secure source of income, and to obtain financial independence with her family.
