Artem's story

Artem runs a garden in Khashtarak village, Tavush region. He grows haricots, onions, potatos, and maize (corn). Also, Artem has some apple and Oriental persimmon trees. He sells fruits and vegetables in Khashtarak village and in Ijevan city as well. Artem’s family helps him in gardening and thus they support themselves. Artem likes his occupation very much. He says that gardening is laborious and at the same time a profitable business, so he intends to develop it. He needs a $3,000 loan to fence his garden and to install an irrigation system in it. Artem is 34 years old. He is married and has two school-aged sons. Also with them lives Artem’s mother, who works as a teacher at school. Along with his agricultural activities, Artem works as an accountant at one of Ijevan’s organizations.
