A loan of $1,600 helped a member to buy thread (baan) for a thread-selling business.

Perveen's Group's story

Perveen is 53 years old and a mother of three sons and a daughter. Her eldest son works while two of her remaining three children are continuing their education. Her husband is a daily wage labor and earns a low income every month. Perveen supports her husband by selling baan which is used to make a local kind of seat, called a charpaey. Baan is a thread-like product and is in high demand in the region.

She has applied for a loan from KIVA partner Asasah to further improve her business. With the loan investment she will buy baan in larger quantity that will allow her to fulfill the client orders on time and increase her profits.

She has been operating her business for the past many years and is very confident that the loan will be productive one for her.
