A loan of $300 helped to buy cloth for making rugs and doormats.

Carmen's story

This is Carmen. She previously accessed a 12,000 Philippine peso (PHP) loan that she used to purchase quantities of raw materials like fabric, thread and other materials needed in her business. Her earnings were a big help for the education of her children and in covering their personal and household expenses and buying more quantities of raw materials.

She would like to apply for another 12,000 PHP loan to buy additional supplies of raw materials needed in her business. Her profits from the business will definitely help her to meet her daily needs and cover the educational expenses of her children. She looks forward to this financial increase with gladness and thankfulness in her heart.

Carmen hopes to buy her own sewing machine and dreams of being able to give her family a good future through all her hard work in her business. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week. This is where she can also draw strength and inspiration from the word of God she studies.

* All CCT community partners/clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the word of God, build social capital and pay microfinance loans.
