Fathi's story

Fathi is a 25-year-old father of one who lives in Sana`a, Yemen. To make a living, he sells automotive products such as car batteries. Fathi's father helped him start his business, and he has been able to expand his operation since he opened. Fathi considers his business successful because of the profit that he earns, which permits him to maintain his family and to reinvest in his business. In the future he wants to become a prosperous businessman. To this end, he has requested a youth loan of 200,000 YER from Kiva field partner Al-Amal Microfinance Bank to buy batteries for cars and trucks.
