A loan of $875 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Sak's Group's story

Residing in the Ratanak Mondul district of Battambang province, Cambodia, Sak is a married mother of seven children, six (two daughters and four sons) of whom are still under her responsibility and are helping the family's business, which is rice farming and corn planting. She is able to earn about 30,000 Riel (KHR) per day from her current business that she has had for 12 years.

This is the second loan for Sak with Kiva's partner, VisionFund. She has used the first loan successfully which has helped her to maintain the current business and keep her children in school. She now leads a group consisting of four members; one member is also taking a second loan whilst the other two are newly joined clients.

She is seeking a loan and will use her portion as the group leader to buy fertilizers and pay the plowing fee. She hopes to earn more income so that she can buy a mini-tractor for her rice field as well as improve her family's living conditions.
