A loan of $125 helped a member to buy fertilizers for her farmland.

Ny's Group's story

Living in the rural area of the Thmor Koul district of Cambodia, Ny is 42-year-old mother of three children, two (one daughter and one son) of whom are staying with her. To earn a living, Ny has been farming rice on 2-hectare of farmland for 20 years. She supplements her family’s income by selling ice-cream. She can earn approximately KHR 62,800 per day from her current businesses. The main challenge of her business is the drought which affects her crop yield. Ny’s group consists of two female members who received a loan from VisionFund for one cycle already. The first loan has helped her to stabilize her ice-cream business and make a better living. Now she is requesting a new loan of KHR 300,000. As the group leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland. In the future, she plans to generate income by expanding her businesses to make a comfortable living.
