Samon's Group's story

Samon is 52 years old, and a married mother of five children living in the rural area of Thmor Koul district of Battambang, Cambodia. She has farmed rice on ten-hectares of land for almost twenty years and supplements her family income by fishing. From her current business, she is able is earn about KHR 34,000 to meet the family’s need.

Samon’s group consists of two members who are females. She is in her sixth cycle while her co-member is in her fifth cycle with VisionFund. Samon successfully paid back the past loans which have helped her to save money to buy pigs and chickens to raise for additional income. Now, she and her co-member are requesting a loan of 1,000,000 KHR each. As the group leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizers for her farmland. She hopes to earn more income to improve the family’s living conditions and give them a better lifestyle.
