Sara Paulina's story

Sara, 28, is the mother of two little ones who are 8 and 6 years old who she loves very much and would give her life in order to provide them with a proper life filled with love. Her house is located in the city of Nazca, a very busy city because of the large number of tourists who come by daily to visit the age-old Nazca Lines which are immense drawings located on a vast field of arid land which according to some studies were used as an astronomic calendar by the Nazca culture. Much agriculture also is carried out here especially cotton, prickly pears, cochineal, white beans and broad beans, among others. In her free time, Sara likes to read a little and above all to eat one of her favorite dishes, the delicious “Pollo al Horno.” Because of her parents’ limited economic resources she only went to elementary school but would have liked very much to have completed her schooling.

With much enthusiasm, Sara works in her small business selling snacks in a three-wheeled cart. She works about 12 hours daily and believes that she does well because she’s kind to her customers and above all because she strives very much to get ahead and provide the best for her children.

Sara is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given her she will be able to buy merchandise for her business like snacks, especially chocolate, puffed cheese snacks and Cheetos, among others. In this way, she will have more variety of products to offer her customers and will improve her income which will allow her to continue working to make her greatest dream a reality: to have a home-based store and to give her son a good education.
