A loan of $775 helped to purchase supplies and ingredients for meal preparation.

Wendi's story

Wendi is happy, enterprising, 64 year old woman. Her husband, the father of her daughter, died and now she lives with another partner, her daughter, and her granddaughter, who she loves very much. She owns her home, which she bought with her deceased husband’s help.

She is in the business of selling lunches such as “arroz chaufa” (Chinese fried rice), roasted chicken, and other dishes that she knows how to prepare. She has two tables and some chairs set up in front of her home. Her daughter helps her in the business. She also sells soda and candy, and has a display case where she keeps the beverages at a pleasing temperature for her customers as the region is very warm. She started her business more than six years ago and she likes having the income and working in the comfort of her home. She feels productive and it amuses her. In addition, she has regular customers that she has managed to gain over time.

This is her second loan with MFP. She is very happy to know that she has their financial support as this enables her to feel confident in continuing her business. She promises, once again, to make her payments on time, as with the previous loan she had. She will invest the 2000 nuevos soles she is requesting in the purchase of supplies and ingredients for the preparation of her dishes; rice, oil, chicken, meat, vegetables, and other items. In addition, she will purchase wholesale soda and candy at lower prices to obtain higher profits.
