Alan Uriel's story

Alan, 21, is a young man living in Estelí. He’s a merchant by profession offering Nintendo services in his community. He’s married and the father of one son who is in his care. He completed 11th grade.

Alan started his activity a year ago with money of his own. He used to work for a private firm and used his severance pay to open his own, home-based business because he wanted to be independent. This is the first business he’s been working on for himself. Alan feels satisfied with his Nintendo arcade because it’s a profitable business; it generates income daily and he has regular customers especially children who live in the community and come to his Nintendo arcade to entertain themselves with the video games Alan offers.

He’s asking for the loan to buy a television set, high definition cables, Xbox goggles and a hard drive. All of this equipment is necessary in order to keep the business active. He says that the loan will be of help to him because he’ll be able to invest in new equipment for his Nintendo arcade that will make it possible for him to provide better customer service. His future plan is to expand the area of the business to attract more customers in order to earn higher profits for his home. His next goal is to get his bachelor’s degree to be a better-prepared person and to have better employment opportunities and earn other income to get ahead with his family.
